Tracy joined Chambers in 2017. She is developing a busy common law practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers' fields of expertise. Tracy has a particular expertise and specialism in the fields of housing law (landlord and tenant), homelessness and general real property disputes. In addition to her practice as a barrister, Tracy is a qualified civil and commercial mediator, and has undertaken mediations in many disputes involving major banking institutions, as well as disputes between individuals.

Property and Landlord & Tenant:

Tracy regularly advises both landlords, tenants and owner occupiers in possession proceedings. Tracy has a particular expertise in the social housing sector, and has acted for social landlords for several years (both prior to joining Chambers and since joining). Tracy is able to advise in both public and private landlord proceedings, as well as mortgage repossession.

Prior to obtaining pupillage Tracy worked for the housing charity, Shelter, as a senior housing and debt advisor, as such Tracy is able to advise and assist both landlords and tenants. Tracy has a great deal of experience in dealing with public law/human rights defences to possession proceedings.

Additionally Tracy has appeared before the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) in service charge and generic leaseholder disputes, and has a wealth of experience in a broad range of property disputes, including commercial and contractual issues. Tracy is also able to assist with injunctive relief and associated applications


Tracy welcomes instructions for both the claimant and defendant in small claims, fast track, and multi-track trials. Tracy is happy to advise on the telephone or in writing and is experienced in settling and drafting pleadings across a range of matters.

Tracy is also happy to provide civil and commercial mediation to parties in disputes.

Public Law and Human Rights:

Tracy is experienced in issues arising primarily out of housing disputes, including gatekeeping/allocations disputes under the Housing Act 1996, including permission applications in cases of judicial review (gatekeeping). Tracy has acted in several appeals under section 204 of the Housing Act 1996, and has experience in providing assistance to local authorities in their review obligations under section 202.

Having spent several years advising local authorities and public bodies in house, Tracy is experienced in a variety of public law related matters.


Tracy is experienced in a range of family matters, including public and private law children, divorce and family finance matters. Tracy has experience of assisting in all manner of applications, as well as drafting the relevant pleadings (including on appeal).


Tracy is an experienced criminal defence advocate, having appeared in numerous matters, from simple driving matters to complex multi handed offences. Tracy is experienced in appearing in the youth courts.


Tracy has an interest in matters arising out of sport disputes. Tracy has experience of assisting National Governing Bodies in respect of regulatory and conduct issues of both management and members of the sport, and is happy to assist in any matters arising out of sports disputes.
