Desiree Artesi successfully represents Antigua and Barbuda in Privy Council

Desiree Artesi successfully represented Antigua and Barbuda in a landmark Privy Council judgment affecting Eastern Caribbean courts granting Freeze and Civil Forfeiture Orders in money laundering cases. On 6th June 2020, The Board handed down judgment and found that the Antigua and Barbuda Money Laundering statutory regime did not infringe the relevant provisions of Antigua and Barbuda Constitution.

The case set an important legal precedent for most Eastern Caribbean countries with similar Money Laundering statutory provisions.
